Coast Guard recovers body of Bastrop County boy : The Bastrop ...
CORPUS CHRISTI (AP) — Searchers have recovered the body of a 12-year-old Central Texas boy who went under while swimming near Corpus Christi.
The Coast Guard on Monday announced the body was located after an aerial search covering about 800 square miles off the Packery Channel.
A Nueces County coroner has identified the boy as Kacey Hendrix of Cedar Creek.
Emergency personnel were notified Saturday afternoon that the boy apparently was caught in the undertow while swimming with his father.
Counselors were available Monday in the Bastrop Independent School District, where Hendrix had attended sixth grade.
